Portal Web Hosting is a division of Northern Valley Communications, a telecommunications company in northeastern South Dakota. Founded in March of 1997, NVC brings state-of-art telecommunications, Internet and video services to Aberdeen and its surrounding communities, along with quality local customer service. We provide space on dedicated Microsoft SQL 2000 or MySQL servers, and are very flexible with our ability to support different combinations of technologies. It features a state-of-the-art fire suppression system, well-grounded four post racks, constant server and environment monitoring, and a dual redundant Cisco firewall solution. It is powered by DC battery strings, kept charged by commercial power, and backed up by a diesel generator, providing smooth consistent power with no blackouts or brownouts.
